Clear communication to team members and delegates! Make sure everyone knows what they’re doing.

Always assume there will be chaos; nothing ever goes to plan. Smile, breathe and do your best!

They can’t look after your guests if you don’t look after them!
People really, really care about the food! (and they really like telling you about it feedback surveys!)

I always have a food stash on site. Just can’t function without munchies. Quite often there are goodies to be had in the organisers’ office too!
food, traffic and toilets…nothing about the event!!
Even if your event isn’t going smoothly, your warm approach can make audience feel valued & memorable.
Patience and learning to delegate small task. A contingency plan particularly for weather in the UK. Be prepared for long exhausting days and always do a follow up of lessons learned.
