I've been running events with Eventbrite for several years now and never found it couldn't do something I wanted. Great concept.
I do this within Association of Sustainability Practitioners (ASP) (http://sustainabilitypractitioners.org/).
Currently running workshops on "purpose-led enterprise" with colleagues across Dorset/Bristol/Hampshire/Devon/Cornwall. We use Open Space, collaborative learning, trust circles and nature-based sessions to stimulate people to engage in deep-learning. Everyone is welcome!
Some things I learned on the way:
The right people always turn up - no matter who
The number of people that turn up is the right number - no matter how many, or how few
The Invitation is the most important thing - get that right and the above two thoughts kick in. Get it wrong...
The fewer the people the better the connections, value and learning.
never do it alone - a buddy always improves the outcomes.
What are your tips for keeping sane and running great events?
