I’m Shweta and I work for a not-for profit organisation in Downsview Park Toronto, called Rhema Canada Inc., that offers spacious event venue spaces for Corporate and social events. I work as a Sales and Marketing Manager for these venues at The Rhema Events Center.

Hi! I’m totally new to event planning so am open to any advice the tribe can give. We have just started a life and business coaching company and I am organising a series of free 2 hour Happiness Seminars. I’m currently looking for free/ affordable venues around Lincoln, Aylesbury, Bury St Edmonds and Hampshire. I’ve been considering coffee shops which are generally closed in the evening, has anyone any experience of these as venues? We’re only expecting small groups. I’m looking forward to learning from the tribe and also sharing where I can. Sally

Hi Sally, what a great idea. Will you be ticketing the events so you have an idea of numbers? I expect coffee shop owners would be willing to work with you if you could ensure a reasonable amount of people - but don’t forget there will always be quite a high no-show rate with free events. You could charge a small ticket price to include a hot drink and that way it’s more likely those people will turn up.

I like the idea of a small charge to include a drink. I’m looking at village halls rather than coffee shops at the moment. I think this might be an easier option for a first time event organiser working to a tight deadline. I’m looking at ticketing via Eventbrite :blush:

HELLO everybody!

My name is Vesna Sokolovska and I run a project called Green Culture (www.greenculture.world) which is bridging UK, Europe and the world with the Western Balkans.
For the past 7 years we’ve been gathering in the beautiful Montenegro, enjoying its natural beauty and discussing about sustainable art and culture, development of green creative businesses, environmental science and education and most importantly, the philosophy behind living a clean green life, becoming it.

This year the event is taking place in 3-16 June and the first 5 days it will involve a TrainCamp, travelling conference from London to Montenegro, via Amsterdam, Brussels, Munich, Vienna, Budapest and Belgrade.

On the arrival we have a mini festival and educational workshops, followed by two day ministerial conference and a celebrity hosted Grand Classics Film event where an A list celebrity will host their favourite movie in front of a celebrity audience which will raise funding for further development of the project.

Needless to say, we need help to deliver this 8th event of this so much needed project and raise it to the next level.
We need volunteers to join the team and help us prepare and deliver the event, we need bloggers, social media experts, influencers, and certainly sponsors/brand partners, donators or whatever you want to call these kind people who help projects thrive. We need all these good people to help us to keep up with the good work we do, which is linking people and organisations, creating an international platform for sharing experiences and expertise, learning new mindblowing stuff, while enjoing the best sunsets and scenery you can imagine, be in awe of what we can do together as a comunity for our only home we all share, our mother Earth.
