Not too sure if I can speak about this but it’s about exhibitors/traders really. Which I was one once. People tend to forget traders book, sometimes over 100 event trade stands a year - a lot of paperwork, especially for a small business.
I ran several outdoor events for years, venue finding was a mare, but events meant exhibitor paperwork and the dreaded chasing of missing information and money . The more events I created the more forms I sent out via post/email or being available to download. - same information being asked every time, every year - very embarrassing. Did some research with my exhibs and other organisers circa 2012/14.
Nothing on the market did the job for both parties to save time. Independent booking systems do absolute zero to help the exhibitor save time and the ‘form fill faff factor’.
So, I did something about it, and though I am not a techy, i created (at 40+!) my own system for my own exhibitors. Success!! Now several other event organisers now use the system and love it and so do their exhibs! We’ve just won a small award for it too. No more paperwork for hundreds of exhibitors and they can book in 2 mins once registered. All events are listed, like ticketing sites, specifically for exhibitors. We so want to work with a decent ticketing company at some point soon as we keep getting asked…but its not our specialism.
