Hi Melissa,

Thanks for the welcome. I’ve been in the events industry for a bit over 2 years now. The concept behind Teastyle however I developed only a year ago. Favourite tea - definitely Japanese Gyokuro

(Melissa Saunders) #522

Will definitely look out for that tea. What’s been your biggest challenge in your first year?

(Sally Gurney) #523

Hi everyone! I’m Sally and albeit a freelance social media manager now, I moved on earlier this year from being a senior registration manager on big global events in the tech industry. I’ve worked on all sorts of events over the 15 yrs but decided to move on for flexible working reasons (kids!). I’m now looking at some point in the future to set up some local fun networking events for freelancers / small businesses so I’ll be looking for some advice around that, but also very happy to help with any registration or customer service questions  If I see any relevant conversations I’ll be sure to try and respond. Really looking forward to being part of his community! Thank you for having me :raised_hands:t2:

(Melissa Saunders) #524

Hi again Sally, great to have you on board and definitely keep us posted on the freelancer networking events.

(Nana Addison) #525

Hi everyone,
I am currently working on my very first TEDx event here in Berlin.
If anyone is interested in joining my executive team email me at
Finance Director needed badly

(Belinda Booker) #526

@Voicey might be able to help. He runs free monthly business networking events. I’m sure he would have lots of tips!

(Melissa Saunders) #527

Hi Nana, welcome to Eventtribe! Great to have you join us. An exciting time for you with your first TEDx event. What subjects will be covered?

(Nick Lawson) #528

Great to have you here Sally  Plenty of freelancers round here who can help give you ideas/feedback I imagine

(Richard Smith Gore) #531

Richie here, I co-founded Royal Arsenal Tours in Woolwich. Just a small setup with three tour guides doing history tours & ghost tours mainly. We have introduced specialist ones for women’s history and working on a multi cultural one too.

(Richard Heathcote) #532

@Sgsocial Hi Sally, as @Belinda_Booker mentioned, I’ve been running networking events for many years now. Always happy to give any advice should you need it. Feel free to message me anytime.

(Shaena Harrison) #533

Hi everyone!

I’m Shaena, a Canadian based in Stockholm, Sweden. I’m part of the production team for TEDxStockholm with our next event on Saturday November 25th. We’re expecting 500+ in attendance and this years theme is Lighthouse.

I’ve been working in events for quite sometime from producing runs with 15K in attendance and small fireside chats and use it in my daily activities when I’m at my day job.

I also have been working in sponsorship for 5+ years. Happy to answer questions related to that too

Glad to be on the community here and looking forward to learning a lot. Glad Eventbrite started this!

Now…how do I post a gif here?! @nick_lawson

(Nick Lawson) #534

@Shaena great to have you here, and another TEDx-er!

I like that you cut straight to the important stuff… to post a gif all you have to do is just paste in the link:

Or if you have the file, you can just drag and drop it into the text box. Having a slack style integration would be the dream!

(Belinda Booker) #535

Hey @Shaena and @NanaAddison I want to write an article about organising TEDx events, would you guys be willing to help? I’m sure they’re fascinating to work on and would love to learn more.

(Melissa Saunders) #536

Hi @shaena welcome to Eventtribe. I look forward to seeing you around the site. I’m sure your wealth of experience will be a great help to others in here particularly re sponsorship which is a subject that comes up frequently. Best wishes, Melissa

(Shaena Harrison) #537

I’d be happy to give my insights. When shall we have a virtual coffee?

(Belinda Booker) #538

That’s great, thank you. I’ll PM you…

(Austin ) #539

My name is Austin. I am here to learn few tricks to organizing modern events. Thank you.

(Nick Lawson) #540
